A Few Words of Thanks From Chris
Chris Bensko, Owner, Madd Style Boutique
Fort Collins, Colorado
Many of you may know that Madd Style reached a milestone this past August. We reached and celebrated our 5 year anniversary. This is no small accomplishment for any small business. But for a tiny boutique tucked in a corner off the beat and path? It’s HUGE!! You think I don’t know this is all because of YOU!? Of course I do!!!
Thank you for shopping local and supporting this crazy business. Thank you for spreading the word that Madd style has Cute and Unique fashion and loads of other stuff. Thank you for trusting us enough to tell your friends where you shop and knowing they will get the same great experience that you did. Thank you for shopping with us when you know it would be easier to shop on line, go big box or just skip it and wear the same thing you always wear. Thank you for daring to leave your safe “box” and try a new color,a new pattern or a whole new style. Thank you for stopping by just to say Hi! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!
Flash Back to the Beginning
So this is where it all began?? Lillians signature purple purse!? Open four days out of the month!! What kind of a business plan is that!!!
Lillians Franchise as a whole did not survive. But Madd Style did!! I still have women coming in wanting to know when I’ll be open again!! So much has changed from those early days. Ultimately, we have listened to you and what you would like to see. Our styles and sizes are more inclusive than before, and we are always hunting down more quality, size inclusive brands.
Looking Forward to the Next 5 Years
Blouse from Tribal
We have learned a lot over the past 5 years, and we would like to put our knowledge to work. We know you like fashion that fits well and is comfortable. Certainly we are all price conscious, but we understand to get a great fashion piece that is well designed, unique and has a great fit….we might have to pay a bit more. In the beginning I chose well priced pieces. All too often we found out these pieces were also size EXCLUSIVE…meaning they didn’t fit much over a size 6!!
These days, as I go to market I still worry about the price. I always ask myself, “Is my average shopper willing to pay that much for a Jacket if the fit is great? Are they willing to spend that much on a blouse with a unique pattern and a flattering fit?”
So far these questions have served me well. This July will be our ultimate test! I will be carrying 3 NEW brands. Tribal, Nic and Zoe and Angela Mara.
Tribal started out as a Trouser Co, so that will be a nice line up to go with our JAG and Kut from the Kloth Denim. Nic and Zoe is what I consider High End, with beautiful dresses retailing between 415! Angela Mara is also a bit pricey and I have picked 5 beautiful pieces that I believe will be well worth the price!
